Job Summary: Collects specimens by venipuncture and finger sticks. Collect and instructs patients in collection of urine specimens and stool specimens. Performs glucose screens, pregnancy tests, Strep tests, urine dipstick and setup as well as other procedures. Identifies patient using two identifiers such as name and date of birth. Processes order in EMR. Enters results correctly to correct patient account. Performs and documents analysis and QC daily and monthly. Performs multiple task simultaneously keeping information organized for processing. Assists co-workers. Ensures that customer service policies and guidelines are followed. Communicates well with all customers including physicians, clinic staff and hospital staff.
Education and Training: High school diploma or equivalent. College courses in biology, chemistry and math preferred
Experience Preferred: no experience required, previous laboratory experience preferred

Equipment, tools, work aids: Meditech, computer terminal, calculator, glucose meter, Sysmex XP300 CBC machine, urinalysis reader, hemoglobin Alc machine, and centrifuge
Specialized knowledge and skills: Aptitude for science, medical terminology, must be able to work under pressures with frequent interruptions and time constraints, must be able to distinguish colors, stand for long periods of time, to stoop and bend, must have good hand eye coordination, visual acuity, memorize specimen collection requirements and certain procedures

Saturday 9:00am-3:00pm and Sunday 10:00am-5:00pm
