JOB SUMMARY: Develop, manage, coordinate and implement all aspects of RMC OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY Programs with guidance of Rehab Services Director. Provide departmental organization, development, leadership, and clinical OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY services. Provides additional primary clinical and non-clinical duties to support all Rehab Department functions including; referral source marketing and promotion; provide functional mobility training to pre-op, SDC and OP’s to include fitting & instruction of DME, braces and splints; clinical resource for front office tasks; conduct clinical chart audit, analysis and reporting of PI Indicators; track, monitor and report biomedical and maintenance repair needs; development of oncology rehab and fitness programs. Will supervise, manage, schedule and coordinate any staff OT, COTA, OT TECHs, students and volunteers. Clinical care duties estimated to be 50-75% of work depending on patient caseload.
EDUCATION: Graduate from an accredited OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY curriculum with a Masters Degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 2 years experience in OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY preferred – experience in outpatient setting, driving assessments, pediatric, FCE’s and administrative duties a plus.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS: Alabama Board of OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY License, CPR.
EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, WORK AIDS: Office machines, hand tools, diagnostic equipment, patient therapeutic equipment/machines.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Ability to perform supervisory, management,
and business skills. Knowledgeable in regulatory and facility policies. Ability to work with patients from birth to geriatric age. Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical conditions, diseases, and injury. Ability to solve diverse clinical and business issues with problem solving approach. Management skills including budgeting, productivity, performance improvement, risk management, safety, infection control, marketing and public relations. Knowledge of insurance policies and issues.
