Speech Language Pathologist

JOB SUMMARY: Provide clinical Inpatient and Outpatient speech therapy services with operational guidance and mentoring from Rehab Services Director. Will be responsible for patient management, scheduling and coordination of services with PT and OT programs and front office resources. Responsible for marketing and financial/operational performance, clinical development/implementation, monitoring quality and performance improvement, and recommending policies and procedures. Will conduct Modified Barium Swallow Studies and evaluation and treatment of speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders. Maintains physician contacts to ensure success of program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Must have ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence.

EXPERIENCE: 2 years recent experience in clinical practice and at least 1 year of hospital outpatient experience.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS: Current licensure from Alabama Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, Vital-Stim Therapy Certification, Healthcare provider BLS.

EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, WORK AIDS: Office machines, hand tools, diagnostic equipment, patient therapeutic equipment/machines.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Ability to perform supervisory, management, and business skills. Knowledgeable in regulatory and facility policies. Ability to work with patients from birth to geriatric; knowledge of medical terminology, clinical conditions, diseases, and injury; ability to solve diverse clinical and business issues with problem solving approach. Program management skills including budgeting, productivity, performance improvement, risk management, safety, infection control, marketing and public relations; knowledge of insurance policies and issues.
