Switchboard Operator (Part Time)

Job Summary:
Operates the communication system for the hospital, which involves notifying employees, physicians and security. Decisions must be made immediately and accurately when emergency plans are implemented. Must be customer focused at all times and assures that each customer is transferred to the appropriate extension or give the necessary information to complete the task. Reviews and updates Physicians call back preference book. Enters and updates daily call schedule quickly and accurately. Must be knowledgeable of all hospital emergency codes and locations within the hospital including the Professional Building.

Part Time with varying hours during:
Every Friday 7a-5p, Rotating Mon-Thur 5pm-9pm and Rotating Sat and Sun 8am-5pm

Minimum qualifications:

Education: minimum of high school diploma or equivalent advanced clerical training preferred.

Experience: minimum of 2 years clerical experience, customer services, multi phone line and paging experience preferred.

Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: None required

Equipment, tools, work aids: PC, digital/voice beeping system, fax machine

Specialized knowledge and skills: None required
