Home / Co-Op Maintenance Student (PRN/As Needed)
JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of an experienced maintenance staff, the co-op maintenance tech will assist with a variety of tasks and learn essential skills to gain an understanding of how the building operates. This includes but not limited to:
– Assisting with repairs, for example, patching, painting, and replacing items
– Assisting with routine maintenance, for example, cleaning, dusting, and organizing the work area
– Assisting with inspections, for example, routine inspections of the building and identifying potential problems
– Learning about building systems, for example, operations of the building’s HVAC, plumbing, and electrical system
– Learning about tools and equipment and how to use them safely and properly
– Leaning communication and teamwork
– Other duties the Maintenance Manger might assign
Hours will vary, not set schedule or guaranteed hours
EDUCATION: High school Junior or Senior
EXPERIENCE: None
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS: None
SKILLS: Basic mechanical aptitude. Good communication skills. Ability to follow instructions. Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, WORK AIDS: Power tools, electrical meters, hand tools, charts, and blue prints.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC , and building and grounds repair.
