LPN or Certified Medical Assistant: Internal Medicine Clinic (Full Time)

Job Summary:
Responsible for medical screening procedures and care of patients presenting to physician office. Will be responsible for collecting blood samples, assisting the providers, as well as overall clerical duties.
Upon completion of training and documentation of competency (attached) by the Clinical Supervisor and with the documented approval of the supervising physician, the Medical Assistant (MA) will be responsible for medical screening procedures and care of patients presenting to physician office. MA will be responsible for injections, collecting blood samples, assisting the providers, as well as overall clerical duties.

Hours:
Full time with benefits
Monday-Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm and Friday 8:00am-12:00pm

Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required; LPN must have completed LPN program
EXPERIENCE: Medical office experience required with phlebotomy experience preferred.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS: Medical Assistant Certification through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Health Career Association (NHA) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) preferred; LPN must have valid Alabama LPN license.
EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, WORK AIDS: Personal computer; Internet, Standard office equipment, Patient therapeutic equipment and machines.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Laboratory equipment, Medical terminology, Basic computer knowledge, Basic phlebotomy knowledge, Must be able to work under pressure with frequent interruptions and time constraints, Must be able to memorize specimen collection requirements and certain procedures.
