Radiation Therapist (RT)(T) (As Needed/PRN)

JOB SUMMARY: Safely and correctly operates equipment delivering ionizing radiation for the purpose of treating neoplastic diseases or for other therapeutic purposes. Applies ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with the prescription and instruction of the Radiation Oncologist. Carries out pre-treatment preparations including simulations and fabrication of treatment devices.

Hours: PRN or as needed with variable hours

EDUCATION: Associates degree, Bachelors preferred

EXPERIENCE: Must be knowledgeable of the operation methods and safety
standards of all equipment producing ionizing radiation within the department.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS: Must be certified
in radiation therapy technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
BLS certification required within 90 days of employment.

EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, WORK AIDS: Linear Accelerator, CT Scan/Simulator, film
processor, treatment devices, lead blocks and any other therapeutic equipment/machines
or their reasonable accommodation.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Knowledge of appropriate patient population growth and development.
