Registered Cardiac Sonographer (Full Time)

JOB SUMMARY:
Renders professional complex diagnostic procedures to patients undergoing procedures in the Cardiopulmonary Services department. Provides care as directed by the physician, and pursuant to the objectives and policies of the hospital, & Cardiopulmonary Services department.

HOURS: Monday-Friday on Day Shift

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Completion of one year (minimum) sonography training; CAHEA approval recommended

EXPERIENCE: Two years experience in echocardiography required. Experience in EKG, stress testing, and Holter monitoring is preferred. Experience in other areas of diagnostic medical sonography is preferred. Experience in respiratory therapy is preferred

LICENSES, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS: Must possess RDCS credentials from the ARDMS, or RCS from CCI. CPR certification. ACLS certification within 12 months of hire desired.

EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, WORK AIDS: Office machines (i.e., copier, fax, telephone). Computer terminal/personal computer. Power tools. Diagnostic equipment. Patient therapeutic equipment/machines (suction, IV pumps, etc.)

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Must demonstrate the ability to understand the unique needs of different age groups of patients treated. Must collaborate with members of the nursing team as well as ancillary personnel to provide total patient care as deemed necessary by the individual patient’s needs. Knowledgeable and skilled in TEE exams. Knowledgeable and skilled in stress echo exams.
