JOB SUMMARY: Provides basic age-appropriate procedures, transcribes physician’s orders, and maintains general functions of the nurses’ station
PRN position: Hours vary as needed with no set schedule to include day and night shifts
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE: No experience required but previous phlebotomy experience preferred.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS: BLS within 90 days of hire
EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, WORK AIDS:
Computer terminal
Diagnostic equipment
Office machines
Patient therapeutic equipment and machines
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Medical terminology
Basic computer
Basic phlebotomy knowledge
Must be able to work under pressure with frequent interruptions and time constraints
Must be able to memorize specimen collection requirements and certain procedures
