Home / Sterile Processing Technician (Full Time)
Job Summary:
The sterile processing technician is responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies and equipment dispensed by the department following infection control methods. Must be conscientious with regard to procedures and capable of working under pressure and interacting professionally with other departments within the hospital. Must have willingness to accept new ideas, complete requests to dispense equipment and supplies and maintain department inventory.
Full Time with benefits
Monday-Friday Day Shift + Call
6:30am-3pm or 9am-5:30pm
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Graduate of high school or equivalent
EXPERIENCE: Six months to one year related experience is strongly preferred
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS: Required to have or achieve Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management within one year of hire date.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed and complex written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a multiple combination of concrete variables in standardized situations. Flexible in work schedule, assignments, and work load. Ability to understand and follow the policies and procedures of Russell Medical Center and regulatory agencies’ standards and rules. Desirable attributes include medical terminology and knowledge of basic surgical instrumentation. Have a basic understanding of various functions of the department.
